Is there an easy timesaving way to carve a pumpkin? My boyfriend came home with a huge one and it's taken me ages just to get the 'lid' off! |

What ever you do its difficult to carve pumpkins, make sure you have really sharp knives and if you can get hold of one of those pumpkin carving kits it'll be easier. Also if you don't plan to eat the pumpkin after spray the inside with WD40 and it'll last longer! |

| That's a good idea, because they tend to go soft quickly don't they. Not sure I like the sound of very sharp knives though, could be dangerous. It's a shame you cant buy them already carved! |

Believe me! a sharp knife is safer than a blunt one.
always take the inside out before you do your face design, its easier. |

I have to say, as a complete novice, I did one this evening and it was a pretty easy job. Even looks quite good (and scary) in the garden.
I still think that Halloween is an absolute and utter rip-off, a wholly fabricated 'occasion' invented by the marketers.
Just like Christmas, really (ducks and runs).
